Been away a while from the board but am happy to report a nice balmy, warm Palmerston North, well, we think its warm anyway. Been here three days now and still can't believe we're finally here in New Zealand.

Only drama was an Air NZ lunatic trying to land a 747 sideways, but hey, we made it!

First impressions? Clean and friendly. Took our daughter to the local park two days running, it's wonderful...the kind of place you'd expect to pay an admission fee for, and not one sign of vandalism anywhere.

Won't rant too long, just wanted to say hello again, will drop in again soon.

So ... Palmy at last eh? Sounds like you're enjoying it. Do yourself a favour and have lunch at Barista which is at 77 George Street - just off the south side of the square.

The actual cafe itself is quite nice but nothing to knock your socks off .... but the food ......... hhmmmmmm ..... very nice. I can't visit palmy without 'doing lunch' there.

Hello D&S, how's friendly Fielding? We did get up there last week but our visit was limited to estate agents and McDonalds :roll:

It looks like we'll settle in Palmie as it suits us all a little better, we're looking at the new developments going up around the Kelvin Grove area. Mortgage free? Ha, what a laarrrfff! Nice houses though.
