Hello all,

OH and I are both secondary teachers and looking to move to NZ towards the end of this year. I am science so that's easy but OH specialism is in Psychology so a bit of a niche market in comparison!

We've done some research and know that Psychology is taught within the later years in the curriculum and we have also found some schools that do offer it, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me more of an insight into it all. How widely offered is it? How long has it been available for? (our research would suggest fairly recently) Does it seem to be popular? Do they have Psychology specialists in NZ or does it tend to be taught by other people?

Thank you in anticipation for anyone that can answer any questions! Or has any other info for us!

Can't help with pyschology answers but...
teachers need to have full NZQA (qualifications assessment)
and register with NZ Teaching Council
Both take time and cost money
