*giggle*
On Monday morning we sent OH's and the kids' passports off to DC to get the blueys put in, they arrived in DC Tuesday morning, our CO slapped the stickers in and sent them right back out....here it is Wednesday afternoon and I've got the passports WITH the visas right in front of me!!!
WOOOOOOO!!!
Talk about a quick turnaround time. She originally told me it would take a "week or so".

Congrats,:bluebanana that was fast. Why Blenheim? Any key suggestions you picked up from the forum or otherwise on KEY ITEMS to bring a) on the the plane and b) shipping container? As a returning kiwi I am curious to your reply. Cheers!

Hmm.....long drawn out reply or the short one?
OK...the quick answer is that we're going to Blenheim because that's where family is. My mother, stepfather, sister and stepsister are all there. We wanted to be near to at least someone we knew.
Also, I lived in NZ before...in Auckland. I was there for 3 years and HATED it. I find Auckland soooo unlike the rest of the country. Having said that (!!), I was also only 18 - 21 last time and as I've said in previous posts, I really didn't put a lot of effort in to make myself a good and happy life. So I'm sure that contributed to my views.
All I knew was that I wanted (needed??) to be near my mom, and Blenheim is where she is.
Also....wine country? HEAVEN!!
Shipping - we aren't shipping anything. We sold, donated, gave away and trashed everything we own that doesn't fit in a suitcase. Photos were transferred to CD or taken out of photo albums, cds were taken out of their hard plastic cases and slotted into travel cases, few books and toys were picked by each child. Beyond that, it all went.
Does that answer it? I'm never really sure how much info people really want LOL!
