Hi
Do you know if there is an age limit on Student Visa's? I'm Early Childhood Educator. If I need to take classes in NZ to meet the qualifications. I'm not sure how I'm going to do it? my age is over 35
Thanks
Jill

I'm on a student visa and I'm 46. I'm not aware of any age limit.

Here are the requirements for getting a student visa. There is no mention of age whatever. And here http://www.teachnz.govt.nz/overseas-trained-teachers is another useful site. Good luck!

Oh that is awesome RJ. Are you going to school fulltime? Can you work? I guess my big question if I'm taking classes to get my qualifications for ECE for there, do I got go back home then apply for PR LOL. Life is so much fun :)

I think you should PM dilanium (Liz), who is in NZ on a student visa. She'd be able to tell you all the ins and outs of the regulations. I'm fairly sure that there would be no need to go back to your home country at the end of your studies before applying for PR, though.

When you apply for your student visa you can request permission to work for up to 20 hours per week - that's all they will allow. After your schooling is done you're allowed to stay for a few months to look for work--you don't have to leave and re-enter. Check out the INZ website (that JandM linked to above) for more details.
