If anyone went to last years one, then might be good to tell of your experience so others know if it is worth attending?

A few job agents but I event cannot upload my cv to their site there.(the representative asks me to sign up now and upload at home).

My husband went to this today, and frankly was very let down. He went for a job that was advertised in medical photography and the advert clearly stated that they were recruiting for the job on the day. This is with the Auckland Health Careers stand.
When my OH visited the stand they said they did not know of the job, they didn't have any facilities to accept CV's. When my OH was talking to them explaining that the job was advertised, another lady visited the stand to hand in her CV for another job within Auckland health careers. She was told exactly the same thing, however she was livid as she had spent 4 hours driving down from Northland, paid $20 to get in, only to be told that the job didn't exist!

What had happened were the people who organised the expo had put out adverts for lots of false jobs and telling people to turn up at a particular stand to apply and to bring their CV. My OH saw people turning up frequently only to be told the jobs did not exist. Apparently job expo people wanted to boost ticket sales and get as many people their as possible.
Not impressed.

So, I can tell as what I saw today, there was no queue in most of the booths , except Career Service CV consultation booth. No queue on ticket office, no queue at entrance. Some booth seems to be busy but , no booth (include Career Service) has more than 20 visitors waiting. Although I am not qualified for getting Career Service (service to pr/citizen only), the waiting list for cv consultation has less than 10 names most of the time.

Been there this afternoon as well, with 12 copies of my CV, and went home with 12 copies of my CV.

I'm sorry for the organizers, but especially if you're looking for an IT job, save your $20, and treat yourself a burger or something.
