Ben & Jerry!
I miss Phish Food! I'm not a big ice cream eater but Ben & Jerry's is the dogs cahonies! All the better when on special in Tesco.
And as for the Ben & Jerry's 'Wich, dribble dribble.
Ah such sweet sticky memories.

What, there's no Ben and Jerry's in NZ?
Cancel that EOI, I don't want to go any more. No point in moving to a land where I can hill walk, run, cycle and Canoe a billion calories away if my motivation isn't there (1 exercise session = Ice Cream reward).

Come to think of it, I don't think I've seen any. You could always make your own. ;)

It was the one flaw in my move back to NZ plan. I have a friend who is now threatening to cancel his visit due to the lack of Ben & Jerry's.
There are many things I make and make well, baking really but there would be no comparison for the genuine article here.

I agree; ice cream is actually disappointing here altho' have had nice scoops in dairies but for buying from supermarket, no Haagan Daz and no Ben and Jerry's is a bit sad! Still lots of other things make up for it, I think!

yeah that's one of the downside in NZ! I miss Chunky Monkey!!!
although there are quite a few good ice cream brands in NZ. I'm partial to NZ Natural & Kapiti but their flavors are nowhere near as cool and experimental as B&J.

Try Kaffee Eis on Courtenay place or accross the water from the boat shed in Frank Kitts park in summer, the best ice cream in Welly by a long way. I believe they may even have choc mint, and it may even be green!
Their flavours vary all the time so if it's not there ask them if they make it and when it'll be available.
You can also buy tubs to take home. Not cheap but absolutely scrumptious:nice1
The gelateria in Eastbourne isn't bad either and I think they sell tubs too.

I don't get the appeal of Ben and Jerry's / Haagen Dazs ice cream.
If I want cheap ice cream then Tip Top works great. If I want decent ice cream then I will go to a gelato place (the one at Auckland ferry terminal is utterly brilliant). If I want reasonable supermarket stuff then there is lots available that isn't the mass produced rubbish of Unilever chemicals or General Mills agro-business.
As I say, I don't get the appeal of them!

I didn't think we would live without Häagen-Dazs, but Kaffee Eis kicks their but in my opinion. Now if they would only make a Baileys Irish Creme flavor.

I'm pretty sure Mövenpick by the Overseas Passenger Terminal does an Irish Cream flavour, but they're currently closed for winter. They also do the best cones, which they make onsite.
Actually IMHO, the best Ice Cream in Wellington is from the deli on Oriental Bay. They sell Kapiti Ice Cream which wins loads of awards. It doesn't really compare with Ben and Jerry's, dare I say, gimicky flavours (Phish Food was my favourite), but easily beats Häagen-Dazs for quality.
And where else can you eat an Ice Cream while looking at an iceberg (http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/2739551/Is-that-an-iceberg-in-Wellington-Harbour)?

I'm not sure how you're going to take this but, I've never tried Ben & Jerry's Ice cream!!! I bought my youngest a B & J recipe book a couple of years ago, never really used it as we never had the icecream maker in the freezer.
