Hi All,

I am Dheeraj currently residing at Denmark working as a SAP-Basis consultant.

I intend to migrate to New zealand as i heard that it's a nice place to live. Eventually i filled EOI(Got 145 points) but yet to submit since i would like to know how much demand is there for SAP technology then later will decide accordingly.

So if any one of you knows about SAP technology and especially about Basis/netweaver module demand in New Zealand then please reply back as it helps me to decide whether i should proceed further or not

All the best for your future endeavours

Cheers,
Dheeraj

Up until recently there was a great demand for SAP specialists. But since the recession hit here the demand has gone down significantly.
SAP Basis consultants still got work here, but you would probably only be able to find a job if any of them would move from their present jobs, and most don't in the present economic situation.
SAP consultancy firms are not recruiting for more consultants and might not even replace the ones that go.
It's not a good time to go job hunting in NZ I'm afraid.

Not me, but my OH is. He's senior SAP architect and specializes in several modules, including PP, MM and best practice.

I can tell you that Telecom use SAP for HR. Please get a job with them and make it work properly!

Fonterra uses SAP. Have you checked with HCL New Zealand because they outsource to Fonterra.

Hi Dheeraj

I work in a SAP Basis role here in Auckland.

I have received my job through www.morgancampbell.com. I had a few phone interviews and after that I got a job offer. My new company even had to wait for me for 4 months. That was a few years ago.

The market here is very small. I am sure you can still do it the same way as I did (look at this website and you will find that employers are still prepared to help the right person with a visa) and I would not come without a job.

Good luck.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your respective info.

Tom-Yes, you are correct .We cannot afford to take any risk by leaving the current job and dreaming for new one; especially the married person:)

That's the reason i want to make sure that either i get offer or there will be a good demand for my module. Anyway thanks for your valuable info. and i need one more advise.
I have filled EOI and yet to submit it. Can i process my visa with out any assistance or do you suggest approaching any consultancy.

I have contacted GOLDEN SANDS MIGRATION (NZ) LTD 2 weeks ago and they replied back regarding my resume as they are going to put forward to some of the agencies.

Regards,
Dheeraj
