So the OH's birthday is next month and I'm trying to get him something that i know he will like...

He's been talking about wanting to get a Ukulele (he's told me the brand but of course I can't remember).

He LOVES his guitars... and I LOVE our money (what little we might have)... so i want to get him a nice one... but not one that is going to break the bank!

I was looking at TradeMe and I found a MAKALA MK-P (http://www.musicmania.co.nz/item_single.php?item_id=3158) but i have NO clue it's a good one or not...

Any ideas?!

go to this shop to have a browse and ask the owner some questions:
Alistair's Music, 215 Cuba St, Wellington
(he's associated with the uke orchestra in some way so should know his onions, or ukes in this case!)

this blog might be helpful:

as with guitars you have to be reasonable careful buying second hand ukes or other instruments (and know what faults to look for) I would not recommend buying one off trade me without being able to get your hands on it for a proper look first

That's about the price we paid for our daughters Ukelele.....seems pretty well made for the price :)

Hubby's in the business. He said make sure to get one that has machine tuning heads, and not just pegs. :nice1

Thanks everyone!

I wasn't going to buy used (or not) from trademe I just wanted to see what was out there...I'm going to see about getting him to talk about the one he wants again and hopefully not give anything away!
