Hi

We sent ours and left it 3 weeks and rang them only to find thay hadn't done anything with it!!
:wah
They are supposed to write/email you to say they have received it. We are now in danger of having to re-do our medicals if they don't reply soon.

I'd ring them to check if I were you - at least it will set your mind at rest.

Regardss

Angela,

They should send you original documents back with a letter stating who your assessor is, we had ours back a week after we sent them.

Nessie,

Have you spoken to you case officer at the NZIS about submitting your ITA without your assessment and then forwarding it when it arrives? This is what we did to avoid having to have a medicals and police check done again.

It took the NZQA over four months to assess my wifes qualifications after applying to have the application fast tracked.

Cheers,

Chris.

I went through the fast-track system, which I found to be excellent. Although NZQA is not a perfect organisation by any means-if they contact an institution for details or confirmation and it does not respond, then it's not the fault of NZQA. Worth warning any contacts who have supplied documentation that a fast response to NZQA is vital. And always give their e-mail addresses because NZQA will use them.

To answer your question though...NZQA will send you an e-mail/letter when your application has been allocated an assessment officer, but I think not when it has arrived.

Not sure if this helps, but it's nice to know we're all in the same boat.

I sent my pack to NZQA on 11th April by Royal Mail 'AirSure' - said I could tell on their website when it left the UK but not when it was received in NZ. Doh!

Anyway, left it a week and logged on to the RM website on 18th. Plugged in my ref number and there it said it had been received in Wellington, that day before 9am. :clap

A few days later, checked my credit card and NZQA have debited the fee - is this done immediately or when they start investigating? :?

At least I know they have it - we'll see how long it takes to get a response - hopefully NOT 4 months (whatever happened to the crossed-fingers emoticon?)

I didn't pay for the fast track - stingey, I know - I thought it probably wouldn't make any difference (let's see how quickly I'm proved wrong )

Will keep you posted - and good luck to everyone with the good ol' NZQA.

Are you having your qualifications assessed for work or immigration purposes?

I just had mine done for immigration, I didn't need to send anything and it was done in a few days (after further explanations about what qualifications I actually had !!!)

I thought if I find it difficult to get work when I got there and they didn't recognise what I've got, I would go through the full assessment then.

Much less hassle :yes

If your qualification require a pre-assessment for EOI purposes you will require a full assessment to submit you ITA.

Cheers,

Chris.

For NZQA internal qualification recognition services, you can use the below link. Then use the menu on the left to determine which type of assessment you want to have. Note for EOI a pre-assessment is enough but if you get a ITA, then they will almost certainly get you to do a full assessment which took over 3 months for my wife.

Hope it helps.

Angela

I sent mine and heard nothing for a month, then the certificates arrived back unannounced and then 1 week later the assessment arrived - totally out of the blue and with no further correspondance attached !

Brilliant !

Mine took just over 3 months from start to finish. TBH I am still convinced the delay was down to my university this end.
