Hi All

I've just had a phone call this afternoon following an interview yesterday that I'm being offered a job.:clap

I'm going to get the offer officially next week but my new boss thought I'd like to know so I can start to relax a little about getting PR as I need the offer to get it.

Next hurdle is to get a work permit to carry me over until I get PR and we all know how hard those are to get at the moment but fingers crossed.

Don't want to say to much about the job/location until I get it official as they need to do their HR thing but just couldn't keep it in until next week as we're just too excited.

Things seem to be falling into place for us now as our container arrives a week on thursday too and we are hoping that any charges for not having the required permits are going to be met by the shipper as they shipped it a month early so any charges are because of them - long story posted elsewhere.

Anyone got a ladder as I need a hand of the ceiling!

Alan :D

well i guess that you could give a little bit away and let everyone know that you are now a franchisee of the good news department!
i would say tho that your story is one of making the move work for you and going out and grabbing it so a high coo from the V's:nice1

Thanks everyone.

Here's hoping the work permit comes through with no hassle - what are the chances of that one then? Still, contacted the agency dealing with our residency application and its all steam ahead.

I'll be able to add something to my signature soon about EOI's etc.

Hi

OK, got the official phone call so I can finally tell everyone that we are on the move again.

We are moving to Taupo as I've got a job as the ICT Network Administrator for the Taupo District Council. :clap

Can't beleive it, we're all well chuffed and it means we can start to plan our long term future here in NZ. Oh, and our container arrives on Thursday so it looks like when we move "up north" our container can be waiting for us!:clap

We'll be sad to leave Waikanae as its a lovely place and we've met some great people here (you all know who you are!) and you never know when we'll be back!

Everything is falling into place nicely - not been stress free but hey, what is when you're moving 1/2 way round the world with everything hanging on chance of getting work.

Anyway, off to sort out work permits and the small matter of PR.... did I mention stress?

I'd like to freely give my lemons but the citrus loving aliens keep stealing them!!!:exit (don't ask, or if you have to, ask NikT)!!!

Excellent news there Alan. Taupo is beautiful, it has a lake you know! :laugh

I wish you and your family a long and happy life here in New Zealand. :nice1

Awesome news. I take my hat off to your willingness to up and move to where the work is. And good luck in Taupo. We visited there for the first time a month or 2 ago and I loved it. Have made a pact to definitely look at opportunities in a few years. It had a lovely feeling about it.

Does it, I didn't notice anything when I was there the other day, you don't think its dried up with all this nice weather we've been having?:nice1

will melons do?

What you do with your melons is up to you mate!:D

Cheers everyone, looks like our last day in Waikanae will be the 2nd Aug as we head north to another holiday bach (still to be arranged). It's all so exciting! Only thing to put a dampner on things is our medicals expire on Monday and we've not stopped celebrating the end of the last "medical diet" so does anyone know of a quick way to loose a few excess inches that seem to have appeared somehow?

Cheers
