Hi Everyone,

Well we are now the very proud owners of two work permits, a student visa and a vistors permit!

We've done it! :raebanana

We went to Immegration in Palmerston North this afternoon clutching our applications, evidence and job offer. One hour 5 minutes later we walked out with our permits valid for 2 years. Is that a record?

Can't begin to tell you how it feels to finally be out of the limbo we've been living in for the past 2 months.

Oh, and get this for timing. Our container arrives tomorrow (Saturday) and we went to pay customs the GST on it yesterday. If we'd had the permits in hand it wouldn't have cost a thing! We have contacted the shipper and they are hopefull we can get a full refund as the container hasn't arrived yet.

Having said that if we don't get the refund then we want the shipper (UK end) to pay us the GST in full as we asked for our container to be stored for a month UK side but they shipped it straight away.

I could waffle on for hours about how excited we are to be finally starting our new life here but I will refrain. Suffice it to say our EOI is getting submitted in the next day or two so next stop PR.:nice1

Hi everyone,

Been busy buying Emma (OH) a car and finding somewhere to stay in Taupo long term and have arranged some viewings for next weekend. We move up there on Friday into a holiday bach for two weeks whilst we search for something else. Got to try and get somewhere sorted by 10th August so we can have our container delivered which arrived in Wellington yesterday :clap.

Wow, things are finally falling into place really quickly and we'll be able to start living "normal" lives again soon.

Our EOI goes in on Monday so hopefully it won't be too long before we get those all important blue stickers.

Cheers everyone.
