Just wondering, did any of you who have taken children out of UK schools get any kind of 'report' for you to take to their new school.

On Monday I will be going to see the head mistress at the boys school to let her know the date they will be leaving (only 1 week before the end of the summer term which is good news).

Am I within my rights to ask for some kind of summary of what the boys have been doing, their grades etc. They'll have the standard school reports that all the pupils get which are now filed in a nice little 'presentation pack' which I've put together for each of them, I just wondered whether it was worth asking for anything extra.

No harm in asking I guess.

Hiya Diny :smile

This is something I'm planning to do before my two finish the school year.

Sam is doing his GCSE's this summer so he should have his results and yearly report to take with us. Rosie will have an end of year report.

What I'm going to do is to ask their Head of Year to write each of them a type of reference going into detail more about their individual personality and the like.

I work at the High School and I know it's something we've been asked to do before now.

It all helps to give their New Zealand school a better understanding of 'who they are' and not just how they perform academically.

Our 2 got a big envelope each with some of their work in it and a copy of their last report. The report was only a couple of months old due to the time we left so I didn't think it was too much out of date but nothing about them as children :?

Thats exactly what I have asked for. It can't do any harm can it?

My boss has done me a fantastic reference. If I decide to work! :laugh
