I bought some fantastic sausages from a German producer in the arts centre Christchurch. I love sausages and I am particular delighted that I have found a quality artisan product. Free range pork and great flavour. They are German style so don't expect to find a traditional British breakfast sausage. They did not taste salty but I was quite thirsty after having them.

Oh I love a nice sausage, but thus far have failed to find anything on a par to good ol' UK bangers. :(
Me and the family have opted for Tegal's chicken and cheese sausages instead. Rather tasty, with no yucky lumps of gristle!! Ewww makes me go cold just thinking about it!!!

OH has become rather partial to Beef and Cheese sausages from Countdown.
DD1 wanted to try "one of those red sausages" at a party - where she then proceeded to pick off "the red wrapper", take one bite and say "yuck".

Oh I know the ones YM&T. I think they are called Cheerios, because I remember wroking at a childcare centre and asking what the little ones were haveing for their dinner that day and the cook said "Cheerios".
I was mystified as to why these children were going to be given a breakfast cereal for lunch, and then realised she meant those little red sausage thingys!!!:laugh.

Our local butcher does great sausages, different every week. Pork and Fennel this time - they were yummy. Their bacon's excellent too.

I read somewhere that New Zealand has just over 3,000 artisan producers. I'm ready looking forward to finding some of them. I'm going riccarton market on Saturday.......
I will look for cashmere cuisine and try those sausages. Thanks

These are really good sausages http://www.salumeriafontana.co.nz/Sausages.htm
You can get them at the Matakana farmers market (north of Auckland) or at various shops - their pork and fennel ones are award winning, and really yum :D
