Hi,
I wanted to let the forum know that the Citizenship Amendment Act 2005 has passed as of April 21, 2005. You can check the below link to see if you are effected by this change in immigration rules. It also has an significant impact on children borne in NZ and spouses of NZ citizens who want to obtain citizenship, so if you plan to have kids and want them to get citizenship, or plan to marry a Kiwi, check out the website for the new law. The website is www.dia.govt.nz.
The link to the information about whether you qualify for citizenship in 3 years or 5 years is below: It appears that if you applied( even if you did not get it yet) for PR before April 21, 2005, you are still on the 3 year plan, if not, 5 years with new requirements.
