I am in the finance line and I actually have a job offer in NZ but my OH is the principal applicant. The good thing is that my NZ employer is willing to wait for me. Even with the job offer, it has taken 7 months to reach this stage.

Hi Amy,

All the best to you. Did you first need to fill in a questionaire before the interview? I'm from Msia and submitted ITA to Beijing branch as well. Hope to hear good news from you.

Wish you all the best...7 months of waiting from an employer is never heard off, but I'm sure you must be good at your role.

I've just done my interview with C.O....overall it went :nice1. About 30 mins.

We should get a response in 2 weeks time. Crossing fingers that we got the precious PR.

Keep cool during the interview and prepare for the questions already listed in the different threads. Should be ok.

Show to them that you know what you want, that you have a plan and confident of achieving the plan.

Good luck
JM

Anyone has an idea about current ITA processing date range in Beijing branch. In other words, who is recently call for Telephone interview? I submitted My ITA in jul 2009 and waiting. My ITA was sent from Bangkok to Beijing branch for processing. I don't have a job offer but claimed bonus points for an occupation in the long-term skills shortage list.
Is there anyone who recently received telephone interview please tell me the ITA lodged date.

Beijing branch is taking eleven months right now to call for interview. I submitted my ITA (without job offer) on 22 November 2008 and still no sign of any contact. Someone ITA submitted on 10/10/2008 had interview on 09/09/2009, so enough time for you to relax.

Thank rizjunior,

Whole process takes about 2 years :wah
What a long time to wait… If I will be able to find a job offer is it possible to speed it? or any other method?

Or maybe enough time to do things which might make you a more attractive candidate, such as take English classes for a year to become fluent? Or to find out which skills/certifications you don't have but which are in high demand in your employment niche, and go to school on nights and weekends to add them to your skillset? Or develop a strategy and start networking with people in NZ (other than just recruiters) who might be able to help you obtain a job?

It's a little late, once you've had your interview with your CO, to worry about how to make yourself more likely to be granted PR.

@Priyantha
Welcome to the Forum

See below my timeline. It took me about 11 months to call for the interview. But remember every case is different some people get interview call after 2-3 months time after lodging their ITA.

yes with job offer timeline is usually half in Beijing, applicants with job offer are given priority and they jump the queue.

wish you good luck amy17.....My process took 6 months which includes 3 months of their silence. When I gave a wakeup call then they told to send another draft as my previous draftw was of excessive amount. Now latest is that I sent my wife fresh CXR (as she was pregnant at time of ITA) and now my CO (Michael Lui) tld that once the medical examiner satisfy with the CXR he can send the letter of decision right away.....

i think no interview in my case....

Priyantha,
My CO is Michael Lui and it's been about 7 months to reach the interview stage. He did make earlier contact to repeat my x-ray and gotten my employer to re-fill a questonaire which was sent at the EOI stage.

Jadugar,
I find that our CO needs little nudges to get him moving. He is very nice and polite but often moves only after a e-mail. It always a little push and a step is take. We tried not to harress but softly push.

Well interview is tomorrow. Will update one that is done.

How about your interview?

Do you have any job offer? Is that so how did you get it.

what happened?

amy71

Interview went well. As my OH is the principal applicant and the job offer is with me, they were concern about OH ability to secure work. CO started by saying that it is policy that the principal applicant holds more weight, even though I have the job offer.

CO asked about OH job prospects, our ability to settle in NZ, childcare concern as we both intend to work and what my settling in plan. How I plan to orientate my family to NZ culture.

Then we ask when will we hear back from them........4 - 6 weeks as China National holidays are around the corner. Wait! Wait! Wait again. Oh well, after all we have been waiting for 7 months now.

Thanks you to all who wish us well. We just have to wait for the good news....hopefully.

Syed@ Selamat Hari Raya...Maaf Zahir Batin.( I am assuming you celebrate Raya)

Cheers,
Amy

It might take 2 months to finalize your application.

This was the statement of my CO after the interview So you too might get an answer within 2 months but i have seen some people get response after 3 months........ !!!

Dear Priyantha,

Please tell me whether your specialization had either or these words "Computer Science, Information Technology or Information science"

BTW I'm from Sri Lanka & my degree specialization given as Computer Engineering. Now I'm clueless on how to do NZQA to qualify for LTSSL bonus points. BTW i'm a software engineer with 4+ years work experience. currently my EOI showing as selected and really nervous whether it'll get rejected :wah because of this word "Engineering" instead of "Science"

Kind regards
