Myself and my daughter have been here 9months and absolutely love it. Got made redundant in June and have been searching for a job since. Basically, if I don't have a job offer paying $18 an hour in 24 hrs we have to go back.
My husband and son are still back in the UK, and we have been struggling along, waiting for a bit of good Luck. I have applied for over 30 jobs, I am a painter & decorator, but I have applied for alot of other too.
We are gutted, don't want to go back, but need that amount of pay to manage here on my own. Got a car on HP to so I don't know what we can do with that one. can't afford to pay it off, and if we sell it we will have $2,500 interest to pay. It sucks eh!:wah

Please excuse me if I'm stating the obvious pitkennedy, but have you tried temping agencies???? Perhaps you could secure a short term temp job, while you continue your search for something more permanent???
Best of luck. ;)

You probably don't want to move to the north island, but did you see the post by Timbo?
