I worked in the UK up until the end of September 2004, and left for NZ in the middle of October 2004.

This may be a silly question, but am I entitled to claim back any UK Income Tax?

you are absolutely entitled to claim sone tax back, go onto the uk inland revenue website & print off a P85 (i think) or try p86, one of those two. Might take ages to get it back, but some of its yours yes (all of it if oyu havent fulfilled your tax code).

The form you need is a P85. Only took a couple of weeks for our refud to be processed, but it is luck of the draw as just depends how busy/well resourced, the office dealing with your tax affairs is.

I got £600+ refunded. You have to fill in the form saying that you have left the UK that Paul mentions.

We did ours at middle/end of June, so a good 6 weeks has passed and no news yet :wah , anyone waited this long, or even longer for any news? Its only going to be about £400, but its OUR £400!

When we did ours mine only took a few weeks but my husbands was nearly 8 weeks I think, it depends on which inland revenue office your employer used.

Did mine when I got here (waaaaaay back in May) got a letter the other day from the asking for my P11D and confirmation of someother taxible benefits I used to get back in the Uk.

Sent that off and now waiting for the money :mrgreen: (hopefully)

Well Milton Keynes are faster than East Kilbride tax office, thats my money in the UK bank account today!! About 7 weeks. Still waiting on hubbys though....
