We are looking for 8 days acommodation mid-October while we wait for our new rental to become available. Does anyone have any recommendations for family friendly budget acommodation (with a bathroom) in Chch area?
So far i've found plenty of places that 'appear' to be a good price....but then they want to add an extra $10+ per child per night making it quite expensive with 3 kids who would all happily share a double bed being so young.
I do remember there was a forumite who had a self catering rental place, but i've done a search and can't find the details

Think it was Joanne100 who had the rental place if I remember rightly :yes I also think that a few folks had stayed in Spencer Park cabins and that would certainly be a good spot for the kids so worth checking out :)

We stayed in a bed and breakfast in a home in ChCh when we first arrived. They had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and a small lounge which we rented all of it for $300 a week.
The 2 bedrooms each had a double bed and one also had a single.
They also had a trampoline for the kids and a large gameroom with a pool table. We used their laundry facilities as well.
It was a very nice, comfortable place, too.
The only detractor was the lack of a real kitchen. The small lounge had a refrigerator and microwave, though.
It was called Hidden Haven (http://www.hiddenhaven.co.nz/)
It was BY FAR the best deal $$$ that we could find.
