We'll be landing on the 9th Jan, and before setting off on our tour of NZ, think its probably wise to book somewhere to lay the head for a few nights.

Appreciate that accommodation may be hard to come by for that time of the year, so thinking about booking something relatively soon.

Anyone have any recommendations, ranging from nice hotel - backpacker hostels. Just the 2 of us, so no worries about kids.

Any links would be cool too.

For a nice hotel , I would reccomend the Heritage in Auckland,
we have stayed in a couple of them and they are great.
They take online bookings, but normally they negotiate on their prices if you contact them.
