I am really bothered by our weird mailbox. Well, at least it is weird for Dutch people like me, since they are very different here. Here the mailboxes have 3 parts, the upper part is for folders and stuff, the middle part for letters, but what is big, bottom part for? Is it for packages? Is it for outgoing mail? I really don't know. Probably it's kind of a stupid question, but, you know, those little things get you frustrated :?.

It is for boxes of European chocolate that is about to be sent out to you by your friends when you realise that the kiwi stuff is just horrible.

Well said old gal !!!!! :clap :clap
Let's hope our mailbox will have a parcel compartment big enough to accommodate a large suitcase.

We don't use our mailbox as it is too small. We use a green wellie instead. Really confuses the postman :laugh

Flying Dutchman, what kind of chocolate do you like best?
Verkade, Milka?

A computer with a mouse is good as well, isn't it?... ahem...
Verkade is the best! It rocks and it's much better than Milka! And which do you like best?

I actually like too much of it, all Verkade is very good, my dad always used to bring us the german or austrian chocolate when he had been away, I do like Milka extra creamy... Cadbury all nuts... hmmm
So can you buy Verkade over there or is it too pricey, do you need us to send you supplies from the NL's? Thinking if you would be allowed to send it by mail now... :uhoh

Actually, all chocolate is good... ;)
I haven't seen Verkade yet, probably they have it in Dutch specialty shops, but probably very expensive. So if you would send me some pacakges... :nice1. Although you're probably not allowed to...

The large bottom space is a hold-over from the years of yore... it is indeed, for the milk bottles. 40 years ago, 95% (hell, more like 100%) of milk was in the good old 1 pint bottles, delivered every morning by the milkman.
In rural areas, you had mail, bread and other groceries delivered by the rural Delivery guy (postman)... as they usually had more grocery items, rural mailboxes were generally larger, single door, non-divisioned boxes, but not necessarily as high, as no-one on farms got their milk delivered...hell, farms= cows=milk. Town milk was a rather poncy commodity for good ol' country folk here!
Yep, remember it well.....
cheers, Stu.

...yup, you got that right. The ol' grapefruit juice, sheesh, I remember that. What a TREAT! Hells bells, mum used to ration us to one TINY glass in the morning at breakfast before school, about a double shot-glass full. Used to think this was how the gods lived, a whole (little) glass of JUICE! Gawwwww-leeeey!
Ahh yes, I remember it well...sigghhhhhhh......

About the kiwi chocolate, my friends gave me chocolate for my birthday, but it was DELICIOUS!! It was "Cadbury", choclate mousse flavoured, it was really devine!! (Is that spelt/spelled well?... (and the spelt/spelled thing?)) In any case, it wasn't horrible at all!
