Just been selected from the pool and really excited :nice1
Now thinking what do we do next ?
Do we need to send off our qualifications for a full assessment as got the pre-assessment result for the EOI ?
Do you wait for the invitation to apply before completing any forms ? ie can you only get the forms from NZIS when they send it ?
How long will it take?
Do we put the house on the market?
God there is so much and so little time

Hi
I was having all the same thoughts as yourself but got some great advice off this site think this is how it works.
If you have been selected they then have to validate your claims says 8 weeks but will probably be longer.
If they are happy they then ask you to send all your bits in like Medicals, Police Certificates etc. You have a maximum of 4 months to send your stuff in. ( We are hanging fire with the medicals and validating the qualifications until we are invited to apply as 4 months should be plenty of time )
You should have your visa between 6 and 8 months you then have 12 months to take it up. ( maybe put the house up then ??? depends how much of a rush you are in )
This is my understanding of the process anyway ............easy innit :no
But you might want to ring NZIS to confrim all of this. ( on the cheap number of course :yes NOT the premium rate number

Hi
Glad we are not the only ones in turmoil over the length of the process!
We were selected from the pool in the one before last dip, all we have had so far is a letter confirming our selection. We too had a prelim done on quals and have sent off for a full ass. We have had the original certificates back but no other news, we won't be arranging medicals just yet but hubby has had his police check done but this only took a couple of days so it may have run out before we get to send it in!! We are just playing the waiting game now but stress levels are rising.!!
Good luck with it all :hopeso

Does anyone know whether you have to get the full assesment by NZQA or is the prelim assesment good enough? Does the answer depend on what your quals are?

Hi Melissa
My understanding of it is that if it is on the recognised qualifications list ( available on the NZ immigration site ) there is no need to have the full assesment done

Can't comment on the NZQA bit but I can tell you that we were selected from the pool 7th of July and our PR came through 14th sept. OUr medicals and police certs held things up slightly it could have been quicker.
My advice would be to apply for the police certs now, they last 6 months and get your medicals booked in as there was a wait for appointments in Yorkshire, it also took 2 weeks to get the report back as our Radiologist completed the form incorrectly. The more you get done sooner the better would be my advice.
