short term housing needed for new arrivals

We are a small family with PR looking for short-term housing on our arrival in early November. Focusing on the NI but considering Nelson area as well.

Some of you may have housing or sleepouts that you rent short (or longer) term) or may be in need of conscientious housesitters/animal care while you're away this summer...would love to hear about what you know.

We've been looking on TradeMe and are finding it difficult to know if the housing would be a comfortable fit not knowing neighbourhoods or what's not being shown in the photos.

After the flurry of an enormous move and several connecting flights to get us there, it would be nice to know that the place we'll be laying our heads for a few days, a week, a month is relaxing.

Our plan is to travel the country until the next school year starts to get an idea of which community we feel most connected in.

Thanks!

I guess you won't know if a neighbourhood suits until you try it.
