My company is moving me up to Auckland next week (it'll be an adventure to be sure but I can't say I'm thrilled to leave Chch) and I am bringing along the pooch, naturally. As part of the move, they are putting me up in a motel for 2 weeks while I try to sort out a flat. It seems they've never had to get accommodations that are pet-friendly as the usual hotels near our Auckland office most certainly are not.

I've gone on to the SPCA's Pet Guide online but of the 200-odd motels listed, most seem to be in the South Island so it's not been particularly helpful.

Does anyone out there on the forum have suggestions for pet-friendly accommodations within a reasonable distance from the CBD? It seems I'll have to do the footwork on this one myself!
