The fact that Susie sent over his golf clubs may have something to do with the fact he's not been here much???

Hey Kim

As john as not been keeping you up to date on his new life i will supply a bit of info.

As diny said golf clubs were sent off at the end of march! along with his squash racket and clothes, paid more to make sure the golf clubs would be ok, (lets get our prioritys right hey ;) ), clothes arrived first though. :laugh

John is in a rental now much bigger than the one he had before, he as bought a bed, dining table, 2 seater, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer IRON and so on.

He as played golf a few times, as now joined a squash club, were may i add he as got a handle behind the bar :? settling in nicley if you ask me, hey maybe he's paying our estate agents not to sell the house then I cant go over :eek

His brother went over for a few weeks last month, they climb right to the top of mount Taranaki, above the clouds, said his legs were K*******,
he as gained weight (says his t-shirts have shrunk) ;) Yeh Yeh Yeh me think not. They went white water raffting, the more i write this the more the above idea with the estate agents seems possible :wah

He visited the dentist for the firt time since i have known him, had to have a tooth out, :laugh (sorry John)

He went to a wedding this weekend at a friends, said it was absolutly georgeous, flight across to south island not very nice though.

He as met some friends through work, the company he works for does drinks on the first Friday of each month, this is for employees and family so it's given him a chance to get to know more people, he was actually invited out on one of the girls leaving doo! (well thats what he told me anyway).

So all in all i think he is having a fab time. :P :clap

Not making excuses for john but he does find it difficult getting e-mails out, this is partly because he is not sat in the office all the time and he does not have a connection at home, maybe this is were i should come in and keep everyone upto date from his phone calls. Sorry Guy's

I will do my best to keep you updated, and if i find out he's paying our estate agents not o sell i will pay you all one by one as you go to go get him for me :laugh :laugh :laugh

Love for now

Suzy

I'm alive :clap
very well and i might add that I'm kickin :cheers

Apologies for not keeping in touch but the social scene and the 20 year old girls keep my occupied for the times when i'm not playing golf or at the squash club!
naah, only thing i've pulled is my tooth :eek
Done some awesome things while here, had the time of my life but during these times i always reflect on how much i'm missing loved ones. Each new experience brings its own sadness wishing for the time to come when Jon and Susan can be here to share the moment. but for now i'll keep doing the hard research on how to live and what to do and see.

As Susan has said, climed Mt Taranaki, went white water rafting in roturua, saw Tamaki brothers Maori concert.

Work is good, great place, great people. started at a large clients this week. At break we play pool, darts and table tennis. sweet! :nice1

Squash club has the best view from a squash club anywhere in NZ. the bar leads out onto a deck that overlooks the coastal walkway and the tasman sea. :cool
The golf is fab although my game is horriby shoddy, more practice needed
Life is sweet, just need my better half and pan lid with me!
Got a plate for my car, check out the lounge!

when the web site is updated i'll leave a link. don't know quite when i'll get round to it though. :?

Anybody wants owt, plase do not hesitate to PM me.

John :cool

You make NZ sound absolutely fabulous darling ;) Glad its working out and it will be even better when the family arrive.

Are most courses members only or pay as you go? One of the things that concerns me is the cost of playing golf in NZ. I have got two children who are talented golfers. Over here Junior membership of North Foreland Golf Course is only £80 per year each and for that they play as often as they want with no extra fees to pay. Do you know whether golf is as affordable over there? Obviously when you talk about adult membership it goes through the roof, but what about for kids :?

Keep on enjoying yourself

Courses are abundant in Taranaki, so they are literally begging for members.
NP golf club is ranked in NZ's top ten and is a true par 72 championship course.
Membership is about $700 per year, dont know about kids, but i imagine its only about $100.
other courses i looked at are even cheaper, the condition and up keep relfect that, although you can just turn up anytime. membership is about $400 and child is about $50. one course will offer me first time membership for $270!!!!! :eek

oh, and most courses will allow fee paying visitors on without proir booking. just turn up and play for between $20-$40 or $50 at NPGC (Ngmouto) with a booking.

Brilliant!

Ay up mucker, was wondering where you had got to. Glad to see you have settled in really well and are living the lifestlye i think we are all baying for. Sounds as if you have well and truly landed on your feet.

Theses courses, top notch i take it? must get back into when i arrive. Haven't swung a club in anger for about 8 years, but am already lookingm forward to it. We'll have 18 when we get there?

Keep enjoying yourself John, and get that family across as quickly as possible.

Our kids are both club members - including an hour of coaching weekly - for the princely sum of $120 .

That would be for a YEAR!!!!!

They love it.

Carol and John,

Nice to know that even if we can't afford to eat when we get there, at least we can play golf :clap

Mmmmm,
Admitidly the $700 a year has some qualities that you wont find on abritish course for the same price. Let us know if you want a pic.

The courses for $400 are like a good municiple. facilities are there but seldom open or used because of the lack of members. i played a course the other week on a saturday, and the club house was shut at 3:30pm. :?
but then again, i turned up without an appointment at 12:30, jumped on, played a round, only saw another 1 or 2 golfers during my game. If would have fallen down a hole or been attacked by a bull, no one would have known for at least a week!

Gud in it?

Good to hear all is going well.

I was reliably told that " if your gonna see a Maori concert, see the Tamaki Brothers as it's by far the best."
I loved the experiance alhough some of it was a bit too touristy for my liking.
The performance is brilliant and i would reccomend this one for anyone, i can't say what the others are ike though.
Was it worth $75, probably, it was an evening of entertainment that lasted from 6-10pm (which included all the other coach pick ups).

Hey John, good to hear what you've been up to (thanks Suzy :nice1 ) had been wondering how things were going. Will catch up with Suzy about other things on the 21st.

NP is still a place we're very keen on (based on experiences when I lived there as a child, and revisted last April). But, what's the likelyhood of there being an IT Project Manager role for Andy??

Continue to take it easy :nice1

Nah,
Still in me jandles!

Actually full of a cold last week, (Jo; before you say i had "man Flu", it was a cold, and a proper one at that!)
Went watching the Lions and got well padded up in several layers. The flat feels very cold today too although the day time temp is better than it ever was in UK. another good thing is the wonderful view of the mountain each morning, it's half covered in snow now. :nice1

One for Babette,
I remembered to take my camera to work today.
I nipped out to Lake Mangamahoe at lunch time so i could take some pitures, looking in the Art shops around New Plymouth, this spot seems to be the most photgraphed. Some Art shops and photographers charge an arm and a leg for one similar to this. This was snapped with my £100 2MP digi....easy

John lovely photo. It's like one of those out of a book.

Anyway I saw your lovely missus again last night we went out for a meal to Francos and Suzy was there with little John and Suzy's mum.

We went to New Brighton Yesterday to the International Kite festival, I've got to say the scenery is somewhat 'different'
