I've just joined this forum and I am amazed at how much useful information I have already found. I've (jealously) been reading about so many of you who are much further along in this process than myself. We are so new to this process that today we are all going to get our passport photos! We haven't even submitted our EOI. If all goes according to plan, my husband, two sons and myself will be in Christchurch by Summer 2006.

Anyway, I just wanted to post a thank-you to you all for this site. I was feeling a bit like a lurker so I thought I'd get into the fray and start talking about my experience.

I've noticed there aren't too many Americans out there. I'd love to meet up with anyone else in the Southeast (I'm in Alabama).

I hope to post some good news somtime in the future. Thanks again for this site.

We have been seriously considering the move for some time now, and have decided its best to wait till Im qualified to teach. Which isnt till summer 2007!! :wah :wah :wah

But, were going out to NZ for xmas and new year this year, so thats keeping me going for now, then when we get back, it'll only be a 18 months to wait! :mrgreen:

Were planning on Christchurch too, so might see you there! ;)
