Hi All
Not the group from the 80's!
I'm hoping to go to NZ early next year.
I only work as an administrator, have no family either living in NZ or going with me.
I don't have a job offer.
I have about £20000 available to take.
Any opinions on how difficult it will be to get a job, where to go (I'm thinking Wellington as I work in Government) or anything?
Cheers
Jon

Hi John
Just to say that most jobs in local government in NZ are advertised on a 'only apply if you have a valid work permit' basis. I got mine as my husband works in a shortage occupation, so I got an open permit to work in NZ. There is a government jobs website - try a search.
Are you young enough for a Working holiday visa - might be a way in to administration type jobs? Best of luck anyway.

Hi
No I'm not young enough for a working holiday scheme (34 this month).
I noticed most Government jobs are only for those with a valid permit, I think I'll just have to go and look for a job in administration outside government & hope things work from there.
Any advice on a salary required to live in Wellington? I'm single and don't expect to live the high life.
Cheers
Jon
