I intend to visit Christchurch at the start of June05 for one week. I would like to get sure my passport will be ok to travel: it was issued by a European Union country, it is not machine readable and it expires in Jan06. Am I right in saying that I can travel to Christchurch without any problem as long as I do not stopover in Los Angeles? If somebody could confirm... Thanks.

I found this:
Entry requirements for Irish nationals: Irish nationals require a passport valid for at least three months beyond the period of intended stay, but no visa is necessary for a stay of up to three months.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Moorf. That what I have come across so far. I am contacting my embassy tomorrow just to be sure.
