Hi all,

Got the official letter of being " Approved in Principle " today. Almost a month to the day since being told on the mobile by CO.

Just thought I'd clarify things to anybody who is nearing this junction..............

You have 6 months to pay the migrant levy if you choose not to submit your passports with your application from the letter of approval date.

You then have 12 months from when the visas are issued to get your backsides over there and planted firmly onto NZ soil. :nice1

Hi John,

Is it 6 months from the date on the letter, or 6 months from when they 1st told you? This could make a big difference to us.

Thanks

Milliemoo,
After I was phoned on April 7th, I emailed CO with that same question you have asked the next day. She was out the office on holiday for a week or so but when she returned she mailed me back and was told I had until Oct' 7th to pay the levy, which would have been 6 months from the telephone call. However, I received the letter of confirmation today dated May 4th and it states that I now have until Nov 4th to pay.

So I guess its 6 months from when the letter is dated. :nice1
