I love it here! That's exactly what Martin said to me this morning and I have to agree, we've been here just short of 4 weeks and everything so far has gone like clockwork and according to plan.

We found a brand new house to rent after two days of being here:

We took on the tenancy a week later and our shipping arrived the day after, with no breakages or items missing. We had a couple of long and tiring days unpacking and it was like home from home within a week. We've spent many an hour shopping and looking for bits that we needed but it's all good fun searching for those all important bits and bobs that make you life complete.

We have made some half hearted attempts this week to look for some jobs but truthfully we haven't tried that hard yet. It's taken us an age to get our internet connection sorted and even now we can't seem to get broadband, so that's my excuse for not job hunting and I'm sticking to it

The weather has been fabulous and I cannot believe how warm that sun still is for the time of year. I know it won't last but for now we're making the most of it and are off out exploring our local beaches and parks. I guess we are still in the honeymoon phase but so far so good and long may it continue, cos we really do love it here.

Lil - that's excellent! What a lovely post, and thanks for the photo. Terrific to hear about your first weeks, especially having read and exchanged quite a few posts from before your departure to NZ.

Our flights are booked for July, and I'm flying into Auckalnd for a recce trip there and in Welli later this month.

Keep us posted!

Glad you're not disappointed. I've still got things in the loft unpacked from 14 years ago so well done with the packing.

What a lovely report. Sounds like things are just great .... as for unpacking in 2 days .... are you crazy ???????? When we started to pack this house up we found boxes that we'd brought (unopened) from 2 houses back !!!!!
