Hi

We've only just astarted on this big adventure and it all feels a bit overwhelming! Wellington is our favoured spot to settle and I've already explored some great threads on the site - thanks for all the really helpful guidance. Schools are the BIG issue for us as I have two boys aged 11 & 7, so I'm looking for an area which offers good primary AND secondary schools. By the time we eventually make the move, it's likely that my elsest will be 13 and ready for secondary school. Can anyone suggest areas in Wellington that are renowned for their schools?

I appreciate that it's impossible to pick an area without first visting NZ (we are coming over for 4 weeks from 12 December) but would appeciate any advice you can give.

Thanks

Carol

There are good schools wherever you go...
It really does ALL depend on your idea of what makes a "good school".

You have to go and see them........and make your own mind up.
Sorry - I'm not being much help....please by all means come and see the school where I work as a teacher - because I believe (hand on heart) it is one of the best I have ever worked in - or even been in.

But.....I'm biased.

Hi Carol

Thanks for the reply. You're right, of course, and I don't want to make the same mistake I made when buying our current house........bought BEFORE we looked at the village school.

Which school do you teach at? Primary or secondary? How easy is it to get into the CBD from Tawa? PM me if it's easier.

Thanx
