Apparently MAF wants to know where my dog Silas will be living once he gets out of quarantine. Thing is, I don't know where I'll be living, let along Silas, and won't for several weeks, since I'll be travelling the country before I get to Palmy.

I'm guessing "A van down by the river" won't suffice :P Anybody come across this? And how did you handle it?

Thanks!

Laura

Aha! My chihuahua weighs 3 pounds (1.36 Kilograms), so if I get the PO Box measurements, I should be able to squeeze her in and get around the problem!! Thanks for the tip!

By the way we visited Shado-Lans quarantine and were very impressed with them.

Waaahhhhh! I've booked with Canterbury Quarantine Svcs already. But they seem quite nice, and I wanted to travel around the South Island for awhile before I head to Manawatu. (Gotta see the penguins, seals, dolphins, albatross and other rare creatures without my predatory little fuzzbutt around.)

We've used Golden Arrow Shippers to move our Dalmation from the UK and are putting her in kennels temporarily once we arrive (no Quarantine needed). They (Golden Arrow) have said that as long as the kennel owners agree you can use their address as the dogs destination. So having spoken to them everyone seems to be happy.

The kennel address makes a lot of sense to me. We asked our CO & her take was not to worry too much about it - she called it a "procedural question" and suggested if we knew anybody at all in NZ to ask if we could use their address/phone number. She said mostly they need an in-country phone number where they can be sure they can reach you fairly quickly.

We have an aussie shepherd/border collie mix & a queensland/who-knows-what mix so alas, the PO box is definitely out!
