Can somebody who has young kids give me some directions on what would be the best places in Christchurch to raise a family. We have four children aged from 1.5 to 6 years old. I am visiting Christchurch for one week on a fact finding trip in June 2005 and would like to tour around the areas where we could end up living i.e. not in the city center and in an area including affordable houses, good amenities and good schools. I know it is an open question but I would like to hear some opinions.
So far, I have checked the house prices in different areas (http://www.homesell.co.nz and http://www.propertystuff.co.nz) as well as the websites of some schools.
Opinions on Marshland, Parklands, Spencerville: are they too far from the city center (commuting time), are they ok?
Cashmere seems a good place: houses are affordable, it is not far from the city and it looks like there is what is needed for a family with kids.
I do not know where to start :uhoh and I have to get organized to get the most from my trip. Any advice welcome
