Hi Guys,

Just got an email from my VO informing me that I did have enough "points" to be able to secure a PR. But he advised me to lodge an application under SM-WTR visa. :eek

I'll be paying (again :uhoh ) this time for a migrant levy of about US$200++

My passport is required to be submitted to them along with evidences that I can support my stay and maintenance in NZ.

My question is, will I get declined again??
What do you think are my chances of being declined? What should I do??

any comments or experiences on the same situation will be greatly appreciated!! :smile

Hi Jingsia,

Since your CO stated that you have enough points to secure PR...then why can't he recommend PR for you ?

I'm puzzled..... :eek :uhoh

Cheers

jingsia,

Although you phrase this as advice to "lodge an application" for SMC-WTR, your mention of sending a passport, Levy and proof of funds now(?) suggests to me that SMC-WTR is what you are being formally offered .

Is that possible? If so, the chances of your being declined are surely almost nil, unless you can't provide, say, proof of funds.

So I'll leave my post at that for now: i.e., are you truly being advised to lodge an application for SMC-WTR, or are you actually being offered that as NZIS' decision on your application? If the latter, congratulations.. it's slightly less direct than upfront PR, but still a great outcome.

Aug and Feb, sorry, it's actually did not have enough "points"

MB, yup, I can say that I am offered the WTR as NZIS's decision on my application. :cool

Thanks for clearing up some questions, really appreciate it :nice1
