Hi we are arriving in Wellington on the 22nd of July and need advice on where to stay whilst we look for somewhere to rent.
We were looking at hotel appartments and the like but wondered if anyone had any other ideas or experience the may help.

Sorry, we actually stayed with some people connected to the company my husband works for for the first week. But I know sarahw stayed in a couple of places - try a PM if she doesn't respond to the thread.

Better to go for somewhere slightly further out, you should be able to find a motel unit for 100-150bucks a night. In the city I think that they are more expensive like 200+.

Oh you could try the backpackers - Wellington city backpackers and a few others, I know quite a few have ensuite rooms and some have kitchenettes too. Do a google search.

Do you have kids or are you just the 2 of you?

Chris. You should be able to find a Bach easily enough at that time of year.
