The next step we are taking in our NZ adventure, is of course like many of you have done, or will be doing (or have done, lucky ones) to fill out the EOI. We have done so online, and there's only two things left to fill out. The kids passport numbers! We ordered them (can you say ordered?) last thursday and they will be ready a week later on thursday. Just after the next selection point! ARGHHH! Too funny huh? :? Now they both have Identity cards, so do you think we could fill out the EOI with that info and then change the info after we have submitted? Is it possible/allowed to change info after selection? I tried to find it on the NZIS site and on here but find contradicting info..
Help?

Hi Hannah
As far as I know, as long as you've declared that they exist and what their ages are, the NZIS can do their preliminary analysis. Then when (note: not if !!! positive thinking....) you're asked to apply, you can then fill in the missing gaps at that point.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but failing that, you could always give your local NZIS branch a call - they should be able to answer that one quite quickly.

Thanks Stevie, it's just when you have not filled it out completely, it says "Incomplete" so my hunch is you cannot submit an incomplete EOI? But I hope to hear from someone if thats incorrect.

We're not the only ones that filled out the EOI online I hope? :eek

Hi Hannah

Unfortunately I have a feeling you're going to have to wait until you get their numbers :wah Were they in one of your passports before? If so, can you not use that 'old-number' and then update NZIS with the new number when you get it? Don't think their ID numbers are going to suffice.

We did our EOI online too ( like most people I would think) but didn't have this issue as the girls are written in my Dutch passport.

Sorry, don't know if the above helped at all :?

Maybe I can call the passport office and ask if they know the numbers

Called them and got the numbers, right in time to submit our EOI and it's showing as payment received!

A few hours after that, I received an email from the NZIS with the answer:
"You can submit the expression of interest now, then fax the details of the passports to the expression of interest team to update your details."

That was on the 25th tho, which is the day of selection, I think we only just made it in?

Hannah,

Just saw your e-mail that your EOI was selected. Great news! On to the next step in the process. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Hannah - we have the same issue with our boys and passports. So were you able to submit your EOI without your children's passport numbers? Congratulations on being selected, by the way!

Hi Gretchen and thanks!
I called the passport office and asked them for the numbers, which they gave, so I still don't know if it would have worked without them I don't think so, because when those numbers were not filled out, it said "Incomplete". I got a reply from the NZIS that if you want to make any changes after you have submitted, you can still do so, but AFTER you get Selected, you have to send them a fax with any changes.
But you still have almost 2 weeks till the next selection point, so I will keep my fingers crossed that you will get the passports before that date, if thats the one you want to submit. :smile
