OK, I may be going daft, and I cant find the post on the forum anywhere, but I have a feeling someone said that they could not take Hot Water bottles to NZ??
Anyone know if you can or cant? I would like mine to keep my feet warm as it looks like we may be moving to a weatherboard house.....

Hi, was it just me or do the regulations say RUBBER hot water bottles, I think it may have something to do with rubber being a natural product/fungus (wild guess) perhaps your beloved bottle is made of something else?

I would think that the rubber in a hotwater bottle is so processed that it bears little resemblence to the natural product. It could be to do with safety regulations of some sort though as the NZ hotwater bottle standard has been upped aparently....you think I'm joking don't you ;)

very good point
perhaps it has something to do with residual water/cleanliness?
or perhaps its a government led incentive to boost sales in the NZ HWB market?
I've taken a look but the shares price in the Hot Water Bottle field looks pretty stable at the moment.
Yes, I'm bored!
Just knocked some cash off our house market price....wanna go now! :wah

It is something to do with the regulations, I think UK safety standards are adequate. Unless your hottie was made elsewhere...
It still makes me laugh to see forbidden hot water bottles alongside guns, grenades, drugs etc on the official list. :laugh

Ahhhh! that's it captain! It must be something to do with those deadly dangerous molotov hot water bottle cocktails I've been reading about. once you get them going they'll keep you warm all night!

Love my hot water bottle (which I bought with me from the UK)
We were using it most nights, when we first got here, but not so much now (maybe we are toughening up???)
Used to put it on Ian side at around 9 then when we went to bed, move it over to mine.
He had a nice warm side to start with and I got the bottle for my feet during the night. Nice!
Also I've put a blanket between the matress and bottom sheet and this has made the bed alot more toastier, and easier to warm up with our body heat.
