Hi guys
I've been trawling through the boards reading all the shipping topics, to try and work out what's best for me, but now my head is spinning and I'm starting to slowly lose my marbles! :uhoh

I'm moving from the UK to NZ (Beach Haven, Auckland) for a short period only - 18 months - and was originally planning to ship only a small consignment (max 20-30 book cartons and 2 bikes). Unfortunately we've now found out that the company my other half is working for won't be paying for the shipping and have done nothing to organise it for us. :wah
But I'm not bitter.
We fly on 19th June, so only ever so slightly starting to worry ... :eek

Had a quote from PSS, and am waiting for one from Crown (who have slots free for 9th & 10th June), however I'm now starting to seriously reconsider what I take with me, and may be able to whittle it down to a fifth of the original volume!
Cycling is my passion, so all bike related stuff is going with me (taking a bike on the plane as part of my allowance, on top of the one I'm shipping!).
I'm now thinking of just taking the pc stack, instead of the monitor, scanner, printer, etc. and can buy a dvd/cd player when I'm there.
Has anyone had any experience of shipping a small consignment? I'm thinking about Voovit too, as they seem a fairly reasonable price, but am put off by their 50p minute telephone rates!

Any advice that anyone can throw my way would be REALLY REALLY appreciated!

Sorry to be posting yet another shipping query!

If you live near essex then try giving Crayford Freight a ring, they do groupage and are reasonably priced.. situated in West thurrock near to Lakeside shopping centre .....phone 01708 864711. if it doesn't help you perhaps it will help someone else.

Thanks Veronica
I'm a bit further up the road, I'm afraid (nippy old Newcastle on Tyne).
Thanks again for trying though!

Snappy. Give this lot a look in. A friend just used them to emigrate to Oz, and was very impressed.

Really is useful for those of us that try to answer questions if the profiles have a bit of basic information on them, Still hopefully a few people from the south will perhaps benefit from that number.

Point taken Veronica

I've only just joined, and intended to update my profile within the next few days with more info - but you've spurred me into doing it!
