Hi,
You may or not know this !

This is for those of you who have been selected and are waiting for the Invitation to Apply (ITA) - like us.

If you login to the NZIS site, it says 'selected' - yeh we all know that !
If you click on that it says ?!

Well, initially it just says you've been selected etc....

But those selected on 4th Aug 2004, may find it says "you will soon receive you ITA" :eek

Go and have a look and let us know.

I hope this cheers up some folks.

Cheers

Steve

Is there any way I can track my application. I've applied for PR under partnership scheme being sponsored by my Kiwi husband.

I'm sure there must be a way of tracking my progress - I may even have been told - but I'm blowed if I can work it out.

Diny.

Hi,
I'm no expert !
The only way I know of is to login into the NZIS site and look at what it says for you.
Other than that others seems to just email or phone and ask.
Some claim that such questions result in their applications getting put back on the top of the pile.
Don't know whether that's true.
Cheers

Hi Chris

Yup. I cut and pasted the message from the NZIS web site. flabbergasted!! I haven't actually got the invitation to apply yet (in my hands), it was what it said when I clicked on "selected" after logging onto the web site.

Just hope they haven't made a mistake. Actually, I submitted my EOI just about 10:00 am NZ time on the day the previous selection was made (mid AUgust), possibly made a slight difference.

I was claiming 105 points what about you?

cheers

Thanks, I expect we will be fine. I am just really surprised this is moving so quickly. This could be a really good thing though since I have been getting some interest from a possible employer (Govt) that can only hire people with PR.

Its funny, I looked into this a year ago with the new scheme and point requiring a job offer and sort of wrote the whole thing off. Now, things all the sudden seem to be moving very quickly!

That is exactly what happened to me. I had given up any thoughts of NZ when the new scheme came in. I don't even know why I happened to check the latest points requirement around about July, and then figured maybe, just maybe..

I also have been in discussions with some companies, but none of them prepared to make an offer until I have a visa... I am planning a trip from 7 november to see if I can get some interviews.

I am still trying to figure out timing here. We were planning on next August for a move but I am rethinking this a bit since I think I could get a job before then. Particulary with the job that has come up, it sounds really interesting. What complicates this is we are headed to a wedding in the UK on New Years eve and I don't really want to go to NZ until after that. A 12 hour flight is one thing but 2 of them... You folks in the UK have it tough.

I'm sure there must be a way of tracking my progress - I may even have been told - but I'm blowed if I can work it out.

When did you lodge your application? Our partnership application went a bit like this:

- After two weeks from lodging my partner's application, we got the confirmation letter advising they would soon be assigning case officer.

- A week later we got a letter from the case officer with a direct dial number.

- Another week later, we got approved in principle and they asked for the migrant levy fee.

- I think it was two weeks after that, we got back my partner's passport with shiny visas in it!

We couldn't fault NZIS London in any way - very quick and very friendly service. I don't recall seeing any facility on the NZIS website to be able to track the processing of our application - but maybe I missed it!

Thanks for that - I couldn't find any way of tracking the application either but I thought I was being abit thick.

Going by your time scale, I should be hearing any time now.

When you paid your fee ... did you have to send it in separately? I've just put my credit card details on the application form in the 'payment' section - I presumed they would just take the money without informing me - or is there another fee I have to pay?

So - yours took 6 weeks - that's good !!

Once again - thanks.

Hiya jesselyn

Yeh, I am (like a million others!) an IT project Manager, so claimed to be on the POL.

Its not as clear cut as the way they describe it in their operation manual, but its the major part of my job for last million years.

This could be the reason for selection of me against some others?

I also work in IT, Project then Product Management and have yet to be told I'll be invited (115 points, 18th August). I wonder if they have EOI's assigned to particular individuals and some are more efficient than others?

Unless of course I've completely messed up the form!!

Mark. :hopeso

Not sure if this is correct, but Woz is in Software Development and I wonder if this is more in demand or more of a POL priority? I know it comes under the Creative part of the Cluster thingy... jeez, I am so technical aren't I?!!

dead right!!

I started working in the computer section, then it became the computer department, then it became the DP (Data Processing) department, then it became the Systems department, then it became the IT department, then IT division. The BCS (British Computer Society) for a while in the 1980s tried to get us to call it "Infomatics".

I cannot keep up ;)

Hi,
Sorry, I've been kinda busy with house viewings and website stuff.

I'm on 100. Selected 1st Sep.
'Selected' hasn't changed for us yet.
Keep checking.
I hate it when it says 'congratulations'. I think oh...then oh no.

I know of people selected on 100 and others not on 115.
I can't see a pattern.

It could be a while before the ITA arrives.
I don't think it's a good idea to get medicals yet.
We're just getting the police stuff done. It can't be that slow !
