Since Anita is right, if we want to have another meet, maybe some of the others (there were more, right?) can come as well.
I know a few more dutch emigrants who might want to join if thats ok?
Dates in June and July, weekends, please fill in your preferable date :
June 5, 11, 18, 19, 25; July 9, 10, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31 are the ones we would be able to come.
But mostly just afternoons, no mornings, sorry.

Just been talking to Emma how the Meet on Moday gave us such a rush to get going with the process. So count me in! I love any opportunity where I can spend the whole evening or day talking about NZ without people starting to doze off.
June 11 or 18 are fine with me. Does anyone have a suggestion for a more centrally located venue?

Was already thinking you didnt want to see us any more :wah ;)
Well, actually we didn't indeed. Last meeting was such a drag, we were even thinking about not moving to NZ if all you guys would be going there as well.
;) :laugh
As far as I'm concerned all the remaining dates are possible. So let's meet all of the dates. We can plan some day trips to look at our beautiful Dutch country together, while we still can :-)

Ok Lets select July 9 And the place, is that ok too by all?
Uhm Erwin, we have just decided next time it's your turn to dance on the tables...
How CAN you say it was a drag with Anita giving it all she got... tsk tsk tsk!!!

Did I miss Anita dancing on tables???? SHOOT!!! :eek
I must already have been lying passed out under the table by then... bummer....
What if we all dance on the tables together next time? When people ask what we're doing we can always say we're hooligans from NZ. ;)

Maybe they will expell us from NL back to NZ :nice1

I just remembered. My mum is gonna visit us the whole weekend on 8, 9 and 10 july!! So I'm all booked that weekend. Erwin can still escape to the attic but I'm stuck
So we need to go for JULY 24 then!
OK for everybody?
ps: my mum is actually quite nice :nice1

Ok July 24th it will be then!? I changed the title of this thread accordingly.
I'll start looking into what establishment if anyone has any good tips in Nijmegen. They must have good, strong tables, ok?
See you!

July 24 is fine with me.
I'll start practising the table top dancing right away. Are we holding competitions?
Does anyone know of a nice cafe with terrace in or around Nijmegen. Perhaps somewhere on the Waal?

We'll be there on the 24th of July

Nijmegen is not that central when I look at the map, but when everybody is from the eastern part of this tiny country, we will be okay.
See you.

It just popped into my mind, and the river is nice to be around in summer..
Any tips?

Anyone?
Another nice one Vivaldi's: http://www.vivaldiscafe.nl/

There's still some time to decide. If Nijmegen is a problem then maybe Den Bosch is a better idea, or maybe something a little more up north?
It has to be easy to get there by public transport, preferably by train only, so relatively close to the station.
Hannah-NL
3rd June 2005, 08:00 AM
OK can we have a vote here, Nijmegen or Den Bosch?
I won't mind having one of these with my tea ;)

Either city is fine with me, but if you start with Bossche Bollen I'd have to vote for Den Bosch.
Erik, if you want we can also carpool.

Hannah,
Vivaldi's sounds good. If people are bringing their kids there is some entertainment for them upstairs.
Shall we settle for this location then on July 24? From, let say, 1.00 pm-ish?
Who else is in for this?

Hi all,
Sounds like a great location.
Do they have a terrace????
Hopefully it will be a sunny day!!!

For Anita:
"'s Zomer's flaneren er duizenden mensen over de Waalkade en genieten ze op het terras van Vivaldi's. Koele drankjes worden er geserveerd en een kleine kaart zorgt voor de inwendige mens. Het balkon van Vivaldi's, in de zomer geopend, is het ultieme genieten." :nice1
I'll email them and ask if they have anything special for a bunch of would be kiwi's :laugh
Are there any more kids coming besides our two? Otherwise we might leave them at home, under the care of whoever we can bother with them ;)
Marco

Maybe another couple I met online, who are planning to go to NZ too, but their holiday ends the 23rd, so they don't know yet if they will be able to attend.

Good idea Ingrid, would you be so kind as to make those? :laugh
I will probably have to arrange a bigger spot in that cafe by now.
I think they want a booking as this is on a saturday and if the weather is fine there will be lots of people around.. so I'll email them.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y166/Hannah-NL/vivaldicafe.jpg
Looks nice eh?
If anyone has any nice idea's, some nice video's or games for the kids perhaps?
I'll ask the cafe what they have so we can maybe add some more cartoons for them to keep them occupied while we talk kiwi ;)
Please post here, or PM or email me in private. I'm starting to really look forward to this now :nice1
(And it's a nice method to keep my mind off that ITA :laugh)

Hi Hannah,
This place really looks nice and big enough for us.
As far as stuff for kids - I'm sorry, don't count me in on that one!!
And please, tell me if I'm wrong - we had agree on the Sunday 24th?! Just to be sure, and it will also be busy on a Sunday, so making a reservation will be necessary anyway.
If I can give a hand with anything else, please let me know.
Regards,
Anita

Hi Ingrid, the date is SUNDAY the 24th of July indeed.
I have a list of 25 so far (some are not totally sure, but I will keep after them)
If there are any more that want to join us, please come forward now so I can jot down your names as well?
I've emailed Vivaldis' already, they already said it might be busy, so we agreed I would send them notice about the reservation ASAP.
We can bring our own stuff for the kids (games or DVD's)

Update:
Going to be busy, 36 so far if all that want to come really turn up.
I think we might have to grab hold of the whole balcony by now!
Trying to get a list organised in my Outlook, but I think I might have lost a few adresses on the way
If there's any one out there waiting for a reply from me, please let me know?
Anita and Ingrid can you let your contacts know?
Thanks! :nice1
