Has anyone ever had any experience of exchanging contracts and completing on the same day?

I ask as it looks like we are going to have to do this the day before we fly out for NZ (should make for an exciting few days :laugh ). Apparently as our buyers are taking out a buy to let mortgage on their exisitng property to fund the deposit for the mortgage on our house this is the only way it can be done. I'm not sure of the legal aspects but our solicitor asures me it's the only way.

Anyone got some nice positive stories about how they did this and it went smoothly.

Yep no worries, we did that when we bought the house we have just sold in the UK. No worries at all, all smooth. So long as the solicitors all keep talking etc.

Good luck.

Us too, we thought that it was the only way, but it was our first time.

Went smoothly picked up the keys and we were in. I believe it's essentially just a transfer of funds once you've signed.

The only thing you need to watch out for is that the system uses telegraphic transfer which only works something like 9 till 3.30 monday to friday.

The very best of luck
