Hi folks, we had our telephone interview last Thursday, had already checked out what everyone had to say about theirs, at the end of the interview we were advised to email our case officer on Monday and may have an answer on Tuesday. We did this and received an email back saying we would hear shortly and our application was looking favourable. Does anyone know how we will be notified of the decision, is it by post or email. Looking at other comments, it seems to be by post. this would save us from obsessively checking our emails every ten minutes.
We had already had our passports sent back to us as we on holiday in a couple of weeks, hopefully our last European holiday for a few years. Hope someone can put our mind at rest, then we can chill out a bit.

Hi Fiona,
Firstly, can I congratulate you on your good news. It maybe a tad premature but from what you've said, things are looking very good for you. :nice1
I was notified of being granted PR by my CO initially on my mobile one morning some weeks back now, then shortly after that I received an email with details of how to pay the migrant levy and how long I had to do this. At the beginning of May, I got a letter from NZIS confirming everything CO had previously told me.
So, I got the news on 3 different fronts. :P
Keep checking everything, you shouldn't have to wait too long.

we got an email a couple of days after the interview saying we had been successful and a letter a few days after that.
Good luck :nice1

Hi Fiona,
Just to let you know we received the news by post only. We then e-mailed the CO to say thanks, and that we would like our visas processed in August; she mailed back a reply within a couple of minutes.
I guess they all do things slightly differently, but as John said, it looks as though it will be good news. If you haven't heard before you go on holiday, it will certainly be waiting for you when you get back (easy for me to say though, the nerves are still recovering :laugh )

Hi Fiona,
We were asked at the end of my interview, which we preferred, email or phone as either was ok for them. Trying to play it cool and not sound too desparate, we said 'Oh, either will do, it doesn't matter which...'
WHAT A FOOL !!!
I spent the next week with my phone in my hand and nearly killing myself to get home every night to check my emails .... Finally it got to the end of the week and I'd started to lose all hope of finding anything out before the weekend, but my OH persuaded me to check the emails before tea and there it was, staring at me from my hotmail account since 4:30pm... what a releif !!
In short, they emailed us.

We've got our PR finally, we found out by letter dated the day after our telephone interview so all the stress was for nothing. Our house is for sale now, so hopefully will be in Hamilton by Christmas. I don't think I've stopped smiling since, everyone thinks I'm nuts!!! :clap :clap :P :P
