I cannot believe it, just going to bob down to the agency & pick all the paperwork.....

Wohooooo........Oh, too early to crack open a bottle (of day that is)

Dreams really can come true. I just hope Maxine and the Kids like it here, who would'nt!

Congratulations - have been reading your progress and looking at all the photos with interest - hope everything goes well for you and your family - absolutely love the t-shirts you got for your children (will have to look out for some for our three when we are out there! )
Good luck!

Marcia,

Thanks!

I got the t-shirts from the Civic Center, there is loads of choice in there and not too expensive for a tourists type information center. Went again today to get myself a t-shirt to fly home in (not that a t-shirt helps you fly!) got 2 on offer $10 each.

Sounds like you've landed on your feet - well done!
What line of work? - sorry I'm new here!
Did you arrange interviews before arrival or do a mad dash round emp agents on arrival or scour papers etc?

Hi,

Line of work is Application Specialist, .Net Developer

I had agencys expecting my arrival. I also had applied to loads of jobs via SeekIT. Do your homework 1st, dont come here and waste 3 days seeking agencys 'n' stuff, get here with clear goals in mind, have your recki trip planned out well, sorry I know its easy so say, Just saying how I did it.

The only mad dash I did was on Sunday trying to find all the places I had meetings with in the following week, Hectic, yes!

Good Luck

Thanks Rammer - so fairly specialised line of work then!?
I've got several agencies lined up - in fact I've been pestering them since Jan. Most of them have said to get in contact approx 2 weeks before travelling and they'll see what they can arrange. I'm just soooo impatient to be there!

Well done again - your preparation has obviously paid off big time - safe trip home.

Sounds about right.

Being here has got to be best way, getting up infront of your future employers means so much. I have said this so so much, it really is true. yes, people have had telephone interviews, and got the job, which is amazing. I would rather see where I am going to work, and the area etc ( commute, housing schools....).
