Hi,

Yet another problem we have! :uhoh Gathering everything we need to submit ITA, I have come across the proof of previous work experience bit.
We claimed points for 6 years (Jan 96 - Feb 02) skilled employment, We can get a reference off hubby's old boss to prove this and another from the company he was sub-contracted to (Dec 96 - Feb 02) but when it comes to wage slips, P60's etc prior to 1998 he doesn't have any :eek  (He hadn't met me then! :laugh :laugh :laugh ) So we have just about everything from 1998 onwards but nothing prior to that.

Is a reference going to be enough, or is it possible to get any copies from the tax man very quickly, or should we just claim points for 4 years skilled employment, as it is alot easier to prove! :? The annoying thing is he did another job before that one, that would also have been classed as the same skilled employment but again he has nothing on paper to verify it and he thinks the company went bankrupt so we didn't claim points for that! (Although he does have some photograhs of that job but to be honest they all look like a scene from 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet' :laugh :laugh :laugh ie; not much work going on :eek :laugh )

If anyone can help with this, it would be much appreciated! :nice1

I'm guessing since 02 he's not been using the skills your application is based on?

I was surprised how particular NZIS were. NZQA were ok with just references, NZIS wanted more substantiation so we sent them p60's, terms of employment and accounts for when I was self employed etc.

Personally I would claim for the 6, better to let them reduce it to 4 if you can't convince them rather than to reduce it yourself. If you explain the situation in your cover letter and refer to the reference I guess you'd be very unlucky not to get it. The difference is 5 points btw.
