Hi
This is the first time I've posted a message, so hello to everyone. I've been reading posts on here for a couple of weeks and have found it really useful!
Anyway, we're hoping to move to the Christchurch area early next year. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child (baby due late August). We had our medicals yesterday and all seemed to go well, but my dr wasn't able to tell me what the implications of my pregnancy were ie. because of my pregnancy, I couldn't have a chest x-ray and she also wasn't able to calculate my bmi. I just wondered if anyone else had applied while pregnant. What I don't know is whether or not they will require proof of a healthy delivery, and will the baby, once born, also require a medical?
If anybody can shed any light on this, I'd be very grateful!
Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate,
Not sure of the answer to this one! But I just had to say welcome to the forum, and congratulations ! :nice1 :clap :clap :clap
I'm sure someone can help you out, have you tried emailing or calling your NZIS Case Officer? If like us you don't have a specific one (ie; no job offer!) I was tod by someone from NZIS at York "Emigrate" fair that if you have any questions to just call/email with your EOI No.
All the best, and good luck!

Hi Michelle
Thanks for that. I think I will contact NZIS and see what they say - I can't be the only one who's applied while pregnant! No, unfortunately we don't have a job offer either!
I can't believe we missed the 'Emigrate' fair at York - especially as we just live down the road. There's another one in Manchester in October, which we must go to - sounds really good.
We're escaping the appalling British summer time for a week, so we're going to hopefully really crack on with things when we get back.
Good luck with your application!

Hiya,
i am nearly 27 weeks pregnant, due 3rd in mid september.
we are planning on going to nz in november.
dont worry about anything to do with the medical as far as i know they wont ask about your delivery or anything.
my only worry with getting PR befour the baby is born is will the baby need medicals when he/she is born?
i was on another forum and a guy was saying they had to get there 2 week old baby a medical, so i dont know what will happen with that :eek
our case officer said we should know in 2 weeks if we have PR(its taken so long due to a medical condition i have)
good luck with your pregnancy and immigration

Spoke to case officer yesterday, she says that if we get our PR , then the baby is born(this is what we expect to happen) all she will want is a medical from our GP, a general health medical and a full birth certificate, she would then add it to our PR.
hope this is of some help ;)

Hi Liz
Just back from holiday and read your replies. Very useful info, thanks. We've just got to hope we have healthy babies!!
Good luck with your PR - look forward to hearing very soon that you've got it and good luck with the pregnancy - nothing like having a lot on your plate all the same time, is there!?
You're planning on travelling to NZ with a very young baby, aren't you? Have you checked out what happens over there re care for babies ie health visitors/baby clinics etc? That's next on my list to check out. If all goes to plan, our baby will be about 4/5 months when we go out - unfortunately will probably be on solids bv then which will make travelling that bit harder, but never mind.
