Well this time next week we will be somewhere between Heathrow and Singapore on route to Christchurch.

The shippers came yesterday and took away the contents of the house, so I'm sitting in an empty lounge, on a borrowed garden chair writing this on the laptop. The shippers were very good; they even managed to work quietly while packing on Thursday while I recovered from a monster hangover following a leaving drink at work the day before. :laugh

We have spent much of the last week visiting my brothers and sisters. I come from a big, but not particular close family and we’ve had some great days out, and it’s been great to see some of them for the first time in years, especially as the kids don’t really know a couple of them; it's just a shame that it's taken us leaving the country to do it. :(

The house sale is still going a head (I hope so anyway as our buyers, and our solicitor, have both been on holiday this week (not together as far as I know) so there’s been no news) with us due to exchange and complete this Friday, that will keep us on our toes right up until the last moment. :eek

We’ve been working through our list of things to do, accounts to close, people to inform, and as the big day gets closer we're all going between excitement at the adventure to come, and panic over the enormity of what we are doing.

Any words of advice for our last few days will be gratefully received.
:cheers

Hi Andy,

Congratulations! You are all set then.

From experience, don't go shopping after your container has left! We paid close to US$400 in excess baggage. This is after Singapore Airlines giving us 10kg allowance in excess of our entitlement oer person. There were 4 of us! That was all becasue we had one week to spare between the container pulling out and our moving and we went shopping!

See you on this side....

The flight with Singapore airlines is excellent, enjoy.

You are allowed 7kg for hand luggage which if not used can be added to your suitcase allowance. We had a total of 32kg on 3 of our cases. No charge. 32kg the max weight for baggage handlers.

Have a good journey

Saw Lisa & Andy briefly yesterday with a car full and just about to drop off house keys, then go to Lisa's mum for night before flighing out today. They seemed very calm with an excited twinkle in their eyes. :nice1

We said our goodbyes, I felt at the time that is was 'au-revour', however when Lisa was waving out of the window it suddenly dawned on me that we may not see each other again. :wah NOW I must not think like that..... WE WILL sell the house and Martyn WILL get a job and we WILL get to NZ.

HAVE A GREAT FLIGHT ALL OF YOU and we will hopefully see you in CHC sometime soon!!! (Well Martyn will see you very soon...whilst on his recce!) Natalie, Aaron & I will be thinking of you while we do the school treasure hunt on Sunday!!!!

Lots of love and best wishes
