Does anyone know the answer to this one.

If you build your own house in the UK you can claim the VAT back. Does anyone know if you can claim GST back in NZ?

Sorry Jo don't know the answer, but wanted to ask another in the same vein:
If you buy a run down house with land, do you need planning etc to knock it down and do a self build in its place?
