Hi Maria, That's good news.

Tell Dave to come prepared for a shock.

We had friends that moved out here from the UK and he was an electricity board trained electrician. When he got here they made him take further qualifications (kiwi version) before giving him his ticket to trade. He couldn't believe. To make matters worse he said that 95% of the houses he had been in over here, the electrics would be condemmed in the UK.

There have been other posts on the forum about the electrics by more knowledgable people than me so I will not put in my pennies worth.

Just make sure that Dave double checks that he will not need to take other qualifications once he gets here.

HI Smiler,

a couple of questions were....

Why New Zealand ?
Where do you want to settle ?
What have you done to find employment ?
Do you have family or friends out there ?
Do you know about the cost of living ?
What problems do you think you will encounter?

Good luck
