Haya,

Is filling in a P85 Mandatory Prior to leaving the UK, I asked my accountant about this and he just gave me a form and said he cannot answer any questions on it as he does not deal with overseas tax.

Is this a must?

It should be a fabulous must if you want those 'enforced' savings back from Gordon Brown.

Shame he doesn't do interest though.

I can't wait to get mine in... :clap

I would be slightly worried about this -a P85 is still dealing with your UK tax, it does not have anything to do with overseas tax other than asking when you are leaving the UK and how long you intend to stay abroad.

It should not be too difficult to fill in, but you should deffo get the form in to the Inland Revenue if you think you are due a tax refund (ours came to about 3k - not to be sniffed at).
