Hi, everyone! I'm writing this on our very last night in our townhouse near Seattle, with very little else but this PC in the place!

So sorry not to have posted much since my NZ trip. After a great time at the Auckland meet, I got straight onto the plane back to the US and then pretty much hit the ground running. Got back late Sat night and returned to work on the Monday morning, which was also Vera's busy performance week. Then (harumph) I got a relapse of that cough I had before my NZ trip, plus house sale, moving, work-leaving preparations, etc.

But we've been keeping an eye on all the forum news: great progress for MarieP among others. Well done, all!

We'll be staying at Vera's parents until we leave for NZ in the second week of July. Still lots of sorting out to do re. our stuff, and work. We're not shipping anything over to NZ (I know the risks of this having read the forum; but we are booked for a Christmas trip to Seattle this year, so will compile a list of some stuff to bring back then. Plus my NZ trip helped me to anticpate small things to bring to NZ that are pricey in NZ).

Loved my NZ trip (thanks for all your bon voyage wishes!)
I was pretty intent to spend the week productively (researching neighbourhoods, banks, job agencies, etc.) so didn't really relax much. Can't wait to get back there with the family.

But I will miss Seattle a lot: the people, our jobs, this lovely little townhouse.

We're so thrilled at our move, though. Little Winston (he's two) tells everyone he meets "We're moving to New Zealand!"

We're really grateful that all of the key pins in our move seem to have gone smoothly, from the NZIS process to selling our house. That has helped us so much. The sheer amount of stuff and detail of these last weeks is hard work, but a combination of Vera's family, our pals, a few beers, and Zithromax (they're antibitotics, not uppers :laugh ) are helping.

How are you all?

Will post again soon, maybe tomorrow. :nice1

Cheers,
Matt and family.

Matt,
welcome back here in the states..glad that you had a good time in NZ (even though, as u said, not much of a relax time) but at least you got something what you needed to get or to do.

Hope every goes well on the preparation of departure.

Good to hear from you Matt, sounds like things are going well for you.

We too are due to leave 2nd week in July ..... God knows whether we'll make the flight though .... so many problems regarding house sale.

Keep us posted with your progress - and good luck.
