Ok, I know there's lots of info all over the place about different shippers, but I thought simplifying it into a poll was a good idea ;) So, if you shipped from UK to NZ, tell me who you'd recommend!! :nice1

It's a difficult thing to poll on as most people only use one so can't really express an opinion on the others.
We used Pickfords and my vote would be for "Anyone but Pickfords" as they were so awful.
Possibly a poll asking people who they used who they wouldn't use again would be more illuminating?

Good idea - done it ;)
So, if you liked your shippers, vote here; if not use the other poll :eek

PSS :clap get my vote They were great start to finish. Crown cried off coming to give us an estimate when we wanted it and a couple of others ( names I have forgotten) failed to respond to emails.

Anyone else?
3 of you voted 'Other', with only GB Liners mentioned in replies; anyone else I should be looking at? :nice1

Haven't left yet, but have chosen to go with Britannia, have had to postpone them twice already and they are just being brilliant about it. Will let you know how they perform later.

GB Liners were great = well, the foreman was. They did inadvertently pack some rubbish we had put out though!
NZ Van Lines this end were very poor in comparison. Just slap dash and left loads of things (furniture) unpacked or in the wrong places. No conversation - just three grumpy men. Very disappointing.

I guess the disappointment was that the foreman from GB Liners was so nice. My last memory of England will probably be dancing and playing air guitar with him to Dire Straits Tunnel of Love around my empty kitchen. I guess it was asking a bit much expecting personalities from the shippers this end!

It would be good to see you if people like their shippers.
I will keep an eye on this thread at looking at this now.
Thanks to all who submit.

Used Pickfords and was very happy with their services both in th eUK and here.
They packed everything up took it away, kept me informed at all times on where it was. Pickefords in Duendine contacted me 2 weeks before the ship was due to arrive to sort out all the paperwork. They talked me through the customs form and MAFF requirements. Delive all our goods, unpacked and assemebled what they could and then took away all the packaging. The boxes still to be unpacked (our choise) once we had unpacked them a week or so later, we called pickfords up and they came to pick up the empty boxes and packaging.
Not one thing was broken or damage (glad I paid out for that expensive insurance now ! :laugh :laugh )
They were a bit pricy in the UK but after a bit of hangleing managed to get them to match another cheaper quote.

On the persoanlity fron the UK boys were typical Essex lads, really friendly and a right laugh, wanting non stop cups of tea etc. Was very impressed on how quickly and well they packed everything up.
this end again the unpackers were friendly and efificent ... one of them was a girl and was most impressed with her humping some of the heavy boxes around.
No air guiater playing though :no :laugh :laugh

We used Curtiss based out of Portsmouth, but they did our removal from London. They were unbelievably good ... we needed a month's storage of our goods - no problem & all our stuff arrived in one piece. Recommend them. They are a small subsiduary of White & Co. but cheaper for the same service!

I got a quote from Curtis and they seemed really good (were my 2nd back up choice)
They have been recommended loads by people on here. The guy who I saw was amazaed that through no advertising he was getting calls from people all over souther UK for quotes and wanted to know how.
Its all through 'word of mouth' or maybe that should be 'word of posting' ;) from on here

Anglo Pacific. They were fantastic, packing was first class, with not one item broken and they were very reasonable, cost us around 2k for a 3 bed semi. We paid a thousand when we moved to Ireland a couple of years before and the company were dreadful. Highly recommended.

Hi,
PSS were very good, nothing broken, container arrived in five and a half weeks and they were the cheapest by far.
